Hypo fix Allergenic dressing is a semi-porous, latex free, polyester-based tape that has low allergy adhesive. The tape has a slight width stretch but is rigid in length and therefore has the ability to conform to itself and still remain attached to difficult areas of the body such as, knees, ankles and shoulders.

When to Use it?

Due to its porous nature, the tape is ideal for holding dressings in place, securing bandages and is often used as a type first layer fixing when strapping and tapping joints. Very strong, low allergy adhesive will stick to awkward places such as elbows, knees, ankles, shoulder areas and even knuckles. Hypo fix is usually used in combination with rigid tape to reduce the chance of strain in athletes. Due to its unique properties, Hypo fix allows the athlete to fully participate in an activity without re-strapping and minimises the chances of causing blisters or an allergic reaction.

Product Application

With most tape applications make sure the surface area is not damaged and is clean, as this will maximises the adhesion qualities of the tape. The Hypo fix needs to be cut to the desired length and the removable backing strip removed. This can be applied to areas such as elbows, knees, ankles and shoulders, as the tape conforms to itself. The affected area should be positioned correctly and if required, rigid tape can also be applied to give the affected area additional support. The combination of tapes will minimise the chance of strains occurring. This will allow the athlete complete mobility while participating in their chosen activity.
